The latest addition to the two-month-old property cements its appeal as an urban resort on Changi’s doorstep.
Overseas travel may still be off-limits for now, but Singapore residents will almost feel as though they’ve left town at Dusit International’s first outpost in the Lion City, a five-star resort within the grounds of the Laguna National Golf & Country Club (near Changi Airport). Opened only last December, the 198-room Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore occupies a newly built low-rise building with a sweeping curvilinear roof, and offers direct access to two championship golf courses.
Non-golfers and golfers alike will want to unwind at the resort’s newly minted Devarana Wellness spa, where a range of signature offerings are delivered in contemporary Thai-inspired treatment rooms. The two-hour Singaporean Delightful Journey sees spa-goers pampered with a freshly made body scrub — inspired by the popular dessert cendol — followed by a deep tissue massage. Another option is the Devarana Signature Massage, a 90-minute treatment that combines Thai techniques with Ayurveda and Shiatsu, while incorporating aspects of Swedish massage and aromatherapy. Avid golfers should go for the Golf Performance Massage, which is designed to repair muscles and rejuvenate the skin. The experience includes a full-body stretch, a yoga massage, and the application of an aloe-and-mint gel face mask before ending with a black-tea and herbal bath. A kids’ spa menu is available for guests aged six to 14 years old.
Beyond these offerings, wellness-centric spaces around the property will host regular workshops, classes, and sensory experiences aimed at helping guests boost their wellbeing in areas such as nutrition and stress management.
Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore has also unveiled DFiT, the property’s 369-square-meter gym, which is billed as the largest within a hotel in Singapore’s Eastern area. This 24-hour fitness center has been stocked with the latest equipment from brands like Life Fitness and Torque, along with all kinds of portable items such as gym balls, conditioning ropes, and foam rollers.
Aside from doing laps in the resort’s three outdoor swimming pools, guests can also redefine their fitness routine with FloatFit HIIT, a full-body high-intensity workout on water that seeks to improve core strength and balance, or a FloatFit Yoga session. Both activities are conducted on exercise mats that have been specially designed to float on water. In addition, three on-site tennis courts are set to become operational by April.
To celebrate its opening, Devarana Wellness is offering discounts of 30 percent on its signature packages, à la carte massages, and body scrub treatments until March 31, 2021.
