Emirates has teamed up with streaming service HBO Max to bring its premium content to the airline’s inflight entertainment system, ice. This makes it the very first airline in the Middle East and North Africa to partner with HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s go-to streaming destination for all of its hit movies and shows. HBO Max is currently available only in the United States and Latin America; it is set to launch in Europe on October 26 and will be rolled out onboard Emirates from November 1.

With this latest partnership, Emirates’ customers in all cabin classes can look forward to immersing themselves in HBO Max hits on their personal in-seat screens, including Friends: The Reunion, shown for the first time on an airline, as well as the multiple Emmy Award–winning Mare of Easttown, A Black Lady Sketch Show, and more.

Initially launching with over 160 hours of content from 31 shows, the new entertainment offering will gradually be expanded over the coming months. Onboard, Emirates’ customers can find and browse the latest HBO Max content in a dedicated folder on ice. Those who prefer to plan their entertainment choices in advance, can browse all ice content online, and create a personalized playlist on the Emirates app, which can be synced with the ice system to begin their movie or TV binge once they board the aircraft.

Emirates has been recognized over the decades for the quality and range of its inflight entertainment programing. The most recent accolade was given out at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, where it took home the World’s Best Airline for Entertainment Award for the 16th consecutive year.
