To meet the high demand of New York−bound passengers, Etihad Airways will fly its A380 aircraft to New York’s JFK International Airport starting December 1, marking the first U.S. route for the carrier’s superjumbo. The airline will continue to operate its two daily services to New York, but one service will be upgraded to an A380, allowing for more seat capacity and overall comfort. Etihad’s A380 can tow 498 passengers total, with 417 in Economy Class, 70 in Business Class, nine in First Class, and up to two in The Residence suite, the airline’s ultra-luxurious, multi-room cabin. Passengers in all cabin types fly with the luxury of 750 hours of on-demand entertainment, seven channels of live TV, noise canceling headsets, full mobile and Wi-Fi service, and USB and power plugs.
Schedules for the A380 service are as follows:
- Departure from Abu Dhabi EY103 at 2:55 a.m., arriving in New York at 8:40 a.m.
