Europe’s oldest chamber orchestra is on its way to Asia for a one-month tour of China and Japan. Founded in 1945, the Stuttgart Kammerorchester established itself on the strength of its Bach interpretations and has gone on to win critical acclaim for a number of performances, including its mastery of Joseph Haydn’s symphonies. The orchestra will perform Chen Qigang’s Zouxikou, Bach’s The Art of Fugue, Double Violin Concerto in D Minor, Mozart’s Serenade in G Major and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C Major.

The tour begins October 17 at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center and closes on November 8 in Japan. Full details are available here.
