To mark the Aman brand’s 30th anniversary, Aman Tokyo and Amanemu have launched a series of 12 insider journeys aimed at allowing guests to shed the detachment of being mere observers and become participants in traditional Japanese culture.
In Tokyo, these range from a sushi-making class at seven-seater Ginza restaurant Iwa Hanare to a tea ceremony inside a minimalistic chashitsu teahouse, with the rare chance to prepare seasonal wagashi sweets at the studio of a traditional confectioner beforehand.
Three hundred kilometers to the southwest at Amanemu, guests can explore the deep blue with a veteran female pearl diver or embark on a culinary tour of the surrounding Shima Peninsula.
