To show appreciation for their members especially during these travel downtimes and encourage future holiday plans, Hilton says that it will be extending status for all their members, worldwide. Plus, they are also extending point expiry dates and stay certificates.
The loyalty program will be extending the status of everyone who had Silver, Gold or Diamond status throughout 2019, with requalification due on March 31, 2020. Those who were due to have their status downgraded as of March 31, 2020, will instead enjoy an extra 12 months of status perks.
Here’s are the highlights:
Those qualified for status in 2020 based on 2019 activity will have their status valid through March 31, 2022, rather than March 31, 2021.
Extension of points
Hilton Honors is pausing the expiration of points through December 31, 2020. As such, none of the points accumulated will expire this year, while usually, they expire after a year of inactivity.
Extension of weekend night rewards
Members earning weekend night rewards via a Hilton Honors credit card will enjoy the expiration of those extended. Certificates due to expire between March 11, 2020, and August 30, 2020, will now expire on August 31, 2021, instead.
