Valid until December 20, 2020, the Getaway Staycation package at this historic property in Old Chiang Mai—originally built in the 1880s as the East Borneo Company headquarters—promises special rates for Thai residents and expats alike. Suites here are priced from THB 9,900 per night including daily breakfast, and domestic travelers will receive a 25 percent discount on food and drinks, along with a “buy one get one” deal for any treatment at Nitra Spa. Those who book direct will also enjoy additional perks such as roundtrip airport transfers by limousine, a free upgrade to the next room category, and late checkout until 4 p.m. And in case of unforeseen circumstances, the hotel’s flexible booking policy means you can cancel free of charge up to four days before arrival.

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort

Occupying the grounds of the former British consulate, the riverside Anantara Chiang Mai strikes a fine balance between historic charm and contemporary style. Its Thai Residents rate offers Deluxe rooms from THB 5,346++ including daily breakfast, and stays up to December 17, 2020 that are booked via the website come with an extra bonus: a dining credit of THB 800 per day for each Deluxe room or One Bedroom suite, or THB 1,000 per day for every Kasara suite and above.

Thai travelers should also take note that the Anantara is participating in the government’s Rao Thiew Duay Kan offer, which covers 40 percent of the room rate, or up to THB 3,000 per room, per night. As part of the domestic travel subsidy, Thai guests will receive an e-voucher worth up to THB 600 per night to spend on dining or spa treatments and other services.

Opened in 2009, this colonial-style, Lanna-inspired hotel was based on early 20th-century homes built by wealthy teak merchants. The three-story property has priced its Grande Deluxe rooms at 3,999 THB under the Let’s Travel package, shaving 46 percent off best available rates. Guests who book the deal are entitled to American breakfast for two, a roundtrip airport transfer, early check-in and late checkout, and a complimentary upgrade to a Royal Grande Deluxe room (subject to availability). Also part of the package? A 10 percent discount on treatments from the spa’s à la carte menu, plus savings of 20 percent on all food and non-alcoholic drinks. The promotion is valid for stays through July 2021.

Raya Heritage

Located a 20-minute drive from the center of town on the banks of the Ping River, the all-suite Raya Heritage puts the spotlight squarely on local craftsmanship through its sleek design. Its latest limited-time offer delivers major discounts on a Rin Terrace suite, with daily breakfast, roundtrip airport transfers, and an extra day bed for a child between the ages of six to 12. Travelers can save up to 40 percent on room rates, based on how soon they arrive. Through the Discover Your Shangri-La offer, guests bedding down at least two nights at this high-rise property can expect a raft of benefits and discounts. These include 50 percent savings on suites upon arrival, a credit of THB 1,000 for room upgrades and hotel services, daily breakfast for two adults and two kids below the age of 12, and a 45-minute Thai or foot massage for two.
