InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has unveiled a new upscale brand called Voco, which looks set to welcome more than 200 hotels over the next decade.
Meaning “to invite” or to “come together” in Latin, Voco aims to preserve the charm of an individual hotel, while imbuing it with the quality of the hospitality brand.
The brand has confirmed its first signing with Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise, Australia, a 388-room hotel located just steps away from the beach. It will debut under the Voco flag in late 2018.

At Voco-branded hotels, guests can expect an experience defined by informal service style, thoughtful details, and a distinctive identity that sets them apart from IHG’s other brands.
Upon arrival, one will enjoy a signature welcome experience and a fuss-free check-in process that comes with an unexpected, locally-influenced treat.
Guests are encouraged to take time out for themselves, with rooms that offer cozy beds, quality bathroom amenities, rejuvenating aerated showers, a variety of viewing content on Smart TVs and Internet connectivity in every room.
Socializing will also be a big part of the Voco brand, with hotels that boast vibrant bar and lounge spaces, that are perfect for solo coffee breaks or gatherings with friends.
