Limited-time packages will be available in destinations such as the Maldives, Vietnam, and New York.
Three-quarters of a century after it was established by Juan Trippe, the founder of Pan American Airways, InterContinental now spans more than 200 luxury hotels across the globe. Travelers will get to toast to its diamond anniversary on their next holiday as international border restrictions gradually ease over the coming months.
Until April 2022, guests can enjoy a range of limited-time offers plus an anniversary cocktail called InterContinental75, a twist on the classic French 75 and the result of a global partnership with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne and The Botanist Islay Dry Gin. The concoction will be served at over 130 InterContinental properties worldwide; select hotels will create their own variations as well as special food-pairing menus.
The 75th Anniversary Package will be available at select hotels and includes a personalized cocktail experience for two; travelers can take things to the next level by booking one of seven InterContinental Diamond Stay Packages that have been rolled out to celebrate the occasion.
At central Vietnam’s InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, an all-inclusive two-night stay in a villa comes with cocktails, champagne, and even a private beach barbecue. Also part of the package? A video coffee date with celebrated architect Bill Bensley, the resort’s designer. Guests will receive a credit of US$500 to spend on dinner at restaurant La Maison 1888 and Bensley’s own artwork in a newly opened gallery. They’ll then enjoy a video chat with the acclaimed chef Pierre Gagnaire, who created the Vietnamese-accented French cuisine at La Maison 1888.
Another option is an indulgent five-night sojourn in a 3 Bedroom Residence at InterContinental Maamunagau Maldives Resort. The stay includes seaplane transfers, private dining experiences, and exclusive use of the property’s luxury yacht while exploring the waters of the Raa Atoll.
The 75th anniversary initiative also involves giving back, and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has pledged to donate US$75,000 to global NGO Water.org, helping 15,000 people gain access to clean water through sustainable projects that are locally owned and run.
