Jetstar Asia says it has now received approval to operate Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) services to Singapore from Penang, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Denpasar (Bali), which will allow fully vaccinated customers to enjoy two-way quarantine-free travel to 13 of its destinations across the Asia-Pacific region. Jetstar Asia’s VTL services from Denpasar and Ho Chi Minh City will begin on March 27 with up to three and five services per week, respectively, followed by the introduction of thrice-weekly VTL services to and from Penang on the 29th and up to two weekly VTL services from Da Nang from April 10.
In a statement, Jetstar Asia CEO Bara Pasupathi said the development marked another step forward in Singapore’s continued reopening to the world. “With the gradual and safe easing of quarantine requirements, combined with replacing PCR tests with the less-costly ART, we are slowly removing the barriers to international travel, which in turn is helping restore consumer confidence.”
“We know our customers have missed traveling to their favorite destinations over the last two years, not only for leisure and business, but importantly to reconnect with family and friends,” he added.
Tickets for the new VTL services are now on sale at jetstar.com. To celebrate the return of two-way quarantine-free travel between Singapore and Bali, Penang, and Vietnam, Jetstar Asia has launched a special limited-time promotion. One-way fares start from S$76 for flights between Singapore and Penang, S$103 between Singapore and Bali, S$105 between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, and S$143 between Singapore and Da Nang. Customers who book their tickets directly before April 30, 2022 for travel by August 31, 2023, will be given one fee-free date change as part of the carrier’s Fly Flexible policy.
