The Curator / EDSA Beverage Design Group

Pour over coffee at The Curator.
For coffee that transitions seamlessly into cocktails, The Curator is a novel concept in Manila’s Legaspi Village. Hidden behind a nondescript wine bar, the windowless venue serves drinks amid industrial concrete walls and communal wooden tables, creating a casual ambience in a sometimes snobbish drinking culture. Skilled baristas man the coffee bar in the mornings until bartenders and owners punch in to create craft cocktails later on. Owners Jericson Co and Tiffany Yu notably coached their own bartender, Yoma Rivera, to win the Diageo bartender challenge in the Philippines last year, while cofounder Silvester Samonte mans the coffee side of the business, bringing third-wave brews to the masses. While in town, come to one of the weekly tasting sessions and various events at his new space, EDSA Beverage Design Group. The two-story, warehouse-like structure offers retail space for craft-beverage producers including beer brewers and coffee bean sourcers, with a few international fashion labels mixed in there too.
