Spending 14 days quarantined in a hotel may not be anyone’s cup of tea, but for those returning to the Thai capital, there’s one way to do it in five-star comfort. Thanks to a tie-up between Bangkok Hospital and Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort, Thai nationals and expat residents can enjoy an extended stay in the heart of Sukhumvit while getting access to medical care through the Alternative State Quarantine program.

This government-certified initiative allows incoming travelers to book the 15-day Health Watch package at the Mövenpick BDMS, where they’ll bed down in some of the biggest hotel rooms in the city (even those at entry level measure in at 42 square meters), receive three meals a day, and get a VIP airport transfer. The property has just increased its room allocation for quarantine stays from 50 to 250 rooms and suites; VIP guests can now book a stay in the Presidential and Royal suites, both of which feature 164 square meters of living space.

World-class medical care is part of the package, with daily health monitoring carried out at the hotel under the supervision of a qualified nurse, and the provision of two Covid-19 tests as well as immune system–boosting supplements. Should it be required, guests will also have access to Bangkok Hospital’s doctors via TytoCare, an on-demand medical examination service.

Returning travelers will be glad to know that Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok recently became the first Mövenpick hotel in the country to be awarded the ALLSAFE label by Accor. This certification is only given to Accor properties that adhere to the strictest Covid-19 prevention measures, which range from upgraded cleaning protocols and reinforced food safety standards to the implementation of contactless guest services.

When the 14-day quarantine is complete, every guest will receive a Health Watch membership card as a farewell gift, unlocking a raft of benefits that can be enjoyed through the end of the year. These include 25 percent discounts on food and drinks and future stays; a special rate of THB 4,000 (US$127) for a first night in a Wellness Suite, along with a complimentary second night; plus three half-price vouchers for the in-house dining outlets Tamarind, Khum Hom, and Rim Klong Café.

The 15-day Health Watch package starts from THB 60,300 (US$1,918) net per person for a deluxe room and THB 68,700 (US$2,185) net for a Wellness suite. Rates for a Presidential suite and Royal suite are THB 180,000 (US$5,726) net.
