This gleaming Australian high-rise hotel will be the first beachfront property for the ultra-luxe brand.
Planning a trip to Queensland in the next few months? A new five-star property — the third outpost in Australia for the Langham Hospitality Group — will be welcoming its first guests on June 23. Comprising 169 rooms and 170 residential units, The Langham, Gold Coast occupies the tallest of the three Jewel towers between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. It’s being billed as the first luxury hotel with beachfront access to be built on the Gold Coast in decades, and will have 17 different categories of rooms and suites, all with private balconies that afford sea views or look inland over the city.
Vacationers are offered a beach resort experience as seen through The Langham lens: there will be two freeform swimming pools, as well as artwork by celebrated Australian sculptor and artist Camie Lyons, and guests can call upon the services of an in-house Langham stylist. Other draws include a swim-up pool bar and a range of drinking and dining venues within earshot of the ocean waves. Palm Court replicates the time-honored afternoon tea experience at The Langham, London but with the backdrop of the Pacific. Australia’s natural bounty — think top-quality grilled meats and seafood — will star in the decadent buffets at all-day restaurant Akoya; 26 & Sunny is a beachside café for grab-and-go lunches or a casual dining experience.
And there’s more in the pipeline. Spring in Australia will see the introduction of T’ang Court — sister venue to the Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong and Shanghai — as well as the open-air bar Coral Moon. Chuan Spa, the brand’s wellness concept that focuses on traditional Chinese medicine, is due to open in September. Travelers can now book the Ocean Escape opening offer, which includes buffet breakfasts for two and welcome cocktails at the Lobby Bar, on top of guaranteed sea-facing accommodation.
