Taking advantage of strong demand for transit traffic at its hub in Doha’s Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways has launched an extra nonstop flight to Phuket each day, providing even more flexibility for holidaymakers from Europe and North America. Outbound services from Doha are scheduled shortly after 2 a.m. in the morning, at 9:30 a.m., and a third flight around 12 hours later, while customers traveling in the other direction from Phuket can choose to leave before 10 a.m. or pick between two nighttime departures.

The Airbus A330 aircraft currently flown on the route will gradually be replaced by Boeing 787 Dreamliners from March onward, accounting for a small increase in capacity. The 787s can hold up to 311 passengers across two cabin classes, compared to 260 aboard an A330-200.

“We are excited to expand our presence in Thailand with the introduction of these additional flights,” said Qatar Airways Regional Manager Indochina, Bennet Stephens, in a statement. “This is a significant step towards our continued commitment to the Thai market, and we are proud to be serving our passengers with safety and great global connectivity. We look forward to welcoming even more travellers on board our flights.”

Visa card holders will be eligible to enjoy up to 10 percent off their Qatar Airways flight bookings. Travelers who join the airline’s loyalty program, Privilege Club, by December 31, 2023 can use the code “PCSEA23” to earn up to 4,000 bonus Avios (reward currency points) for travel by June 30 next year.
