Through December, customers will still be able to amend their travel dates as often as needed.

As the novel coronavirus is still raging across the globe, Qatar Airways has extended its flexible booking policy until the end of 2021. The leading Gulf carrier recently announced that all passengers with tickets issued before April 30 will be eligible to make unlimited date changes and ask for refunds at no extra cost, so long as travel is completed by December 31, 2021. Date and destination changes are being offered within the same booking class, though fare and tax differences still apply.

Alternatively, tickets can be exchanged for a travel voucher with 10 percent of additional value on the original price; this has now been made a permanent option for all those booking flights via qatarairways.com. The airline says redeeming a travel voucher is a quick and straightforward process, with customers expected to receive one within 48 hours of making an application online.

Qatar’s national carrier is steadily rebuilding its global network, with a view to serve 129 destinations by the end of March. It has brought forward the launch of its four-times-weekly flights between Doha and Seattle from March 15 to January 29, and took delivery of its 53rd Airbus A350 aircraft just last week. Qatar Airways adds that it remains committed to honoring passenger refunds—over US$1.65 billion has been paid out since March 2020.
