Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
The jetsetter paradise of Maldives is now home to Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, a 38-villa resort located on the remote Gaafu Alifu Atoll. This new opening not only marks AccorHotels’ fourth property in the Maldives, but also its first under the renowned Raffles brand following a top-to-toe renovation of what was previously known as Jumeirah Dhevanafush. Here, guests can also expect 24-hour butlers on call and private chef service befitting of Raffles’ unparalleled service.
Designed to make guests feel like they’re on a private getaway, the resort features a secluded collection of overwater villas and residences that can only be reached by a traditional Maldivian Dhoni boat. Other accommodation options include beach villas, beach residences, as well as the Raffles Royal Residence, which will be unveiled in the second half of the year.

Guests can come up close and personal with the rich marine life, thanks to glass flooring panels in each of the terraces. The magnificent reefs in Gaafu Alifu Atoll provide a thriving habitat for creatures like baby sharks, turtles, and tropical fish. To learn more about the marine life, simply consult the hotel’s resident marine biologist and team of marine butlers.
The dining experiences are as sumptuous as they come, with all-day dining at Thari, Peruvian and Japanese fusion restaurant Yuzu, as well as flame-grilled dishes at The Firepit. At dusk, head to the overwater Yapa Sunset Bar for cocktail concoctions inspired by the national drinks of South America and Japan. Meanwhile, bubbly lovers can nurse a flute or two at the Long Bar.
