Set on an oxbow bend of the Chao Phraya River within Bang Krachao, Bangkok’s green lung, RAKxa made waves on the local hospitality scene when it launched in December 2020. The high-end wellness and medical retreat has now debuted 33 new private pool villas, each one promising lakefront views, a living room with large glass doors opening out to the garden, and an adjoining lawn for morning yoga.
RAKxa provides all the conditions necessary for a restorative night’s sleep. Guests can look forward to customized beds no higher than 70 cm, making them more comfortable for the elderly and those with back pain and injuries. The cotton silk bed sheets are hypoallergenic, and there are six different types of pillows to choose from, including contour massage, cervicalopedic, natural latex, buckwheat, companion, and memory foam. A minibar stocked with herbal teas and fruits encourage a healthy approach to snacking. Guests can monitor air pollution levels and adjust the temperature and light levels to their liking by using a Smart Room Controller.
In line with RAKxa’s broader concept of a Botanical Wellness Journey, the villas have been done up in soothing earthen tones, with wood floors and Jim Thompson fabrics as colorful accents. The layouts were designed by doctors and physiotherapists to be accessible to everyone, with spacious bathrooms (also suitable for the elderly) featuring a Jacuzzi bathtub to stimulate blood circulation through the flow of warm water. Outside, the saltwater plunge pools are lined with stones chosen for their roundness for a more pleasant experience while walking around barefoot.
