Does life imitate art or is it the other way around? In the case of this new rentable Airbnb space, it’s the latter that rings true as art enthusiasts now have the chance to stay in a space re-created down to its last detail from one of Vincent van Gogh’s most famous paintings, The Bedroom, which depicts the Dutch post-Impressionist’s bedroom in Arles, France.
Put together by the Art Institute of Chicago to promote its “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms” exhibition, which will turn the spotlight on all three version of the painting created by van Gogh in 1988 and 1889, the museum has brought to life one version of the his works in the city’s River North neighborhood, with chairs, a bed, paintings on the wall, and green streaks on the wooden floors to match. The nightly rate itself is a steal at just US$10, but given the high demand, the museum will only be taking bookings on dates announced on its social media accounts.
If seeing all three paintings together in a single showcase is good enough for you, the exhibition runs from February 14 through May 10.
