Singapore to Welcome a Second Raffles Hotel on Sentosa Island

Ahead of Raffles Singapore’s highly anticipated reopening on Beach Road, Accor and Royal Group have announced a second Raffles property in the Lion City, as well as new properties in Bali and India.

As fans of the legendary Raffles brand await the August reopening of Raffles Singapore on Beach Road, hospitality group Accor has announced a second Raffles property for the Lion City come 2022.

Developed in partnership with property development firm Royal Group, Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa will span 100,000 square meters of tropical greenery on the island resort of Sentosa. The all-villa property will feature accommodations ranging from 260-square-meter one-bedroom villas to 450-square-meter four-bedroom villas. Designed for seclusion and comfort, each of these villas come with a private pool and terrace area.

Peter Wilding, managing director of Royal Group said: “The original Raffles Hotel was conceived as a beachfront property, but as Singapore has grown up around the property it is now located in the thriving center of the city. Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa Singapore will return the brand to the beach and create a modern resort experience that captures the balance of tradition and modernity in a serene and idyllic setting.”

Located adjacent to the existing Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, the new property will offer facilities including a bar, restaurants, a fitness center, a celebrations room, and two meeting rooms. Guests can expect signature experiences including the brand’s Raffles Butlers and Raffles Spa.

Design firm Yabu Puselberg, whose previous works include luxury hotels like the Four Seasons Toronto and St Regis Mexico City, will helm the project. Through beautiful landscaping and lighting design, the resort will bring to life the fictional narrative of a Singapore woman as she reconnects with her roots.

Yabu Puselberg co-founder George Yabu added: “The resort tells the story of her past, present and future worlds colliding into one complete harmonious experience.”

Hot on the heels of Raffles Singapore are new openings planned for Bali in 2020, as well as Udaipur—the first Raffles property for India.

With just 32 private villas, Raffles Bali has been designed to blend into its lush surrounds. Its hill-top, Jimbaran Bay location means that guests will be able to enjoy unparalleled ocean views and beautiful sunsets. Other amenities to look forward to include the Writers Bar, a luxurious spa offering local rituals, as well as a restaurant serving imaginative menus.
