Expect sea views, thoughtful amenities, and the comforts of The Ascott Limited’s Somerset brand.

Whether you’re planning a short or extended stay in Pattaya — one of Thailand’s most popular beach destinations — a new hotel and serviced residence that opened only this past October is well worth a look. The first Ascott property in town, Somerset Pattaya occupies a 24-story tower directly across the street from the Central Festival Pattaya shopping mall, putting travelers within easy walking distance to the beach, lively night markets, and the city’s buzzing entertainment district.

The 324 spacious units have been done up in a refined, contemporary style. Entry-level standard rooms start out at 35 square meters, and feature bathrooms with double vanities; while studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom serviced apartments measure between 44 and 135 square meters in size. All feature a living and dining area, well-equipped kitchen, standalone bathtubs, and private balconies.

Family-friendly facilities at Somerset Pattaya range from an infinity pool on the rooftop that affords sweeping views of Pattaya’s cityscape and the Gulf of Thailand to a compact, pirate-themed water park and a children’s playroom. On the second floor, a state-of-the-art gymnasium allows travelers to stay in shape while on the road.

Apart from stretching out on sun loungers by the Pool Bar, residents will soon be able to unwind with light bites and drinks in hand at the cozy Sky Lounge; other spots for relaxation include a private garden and the lobby lounge just off the elegant reception. Daily breakfast is offered at the property’s all-day dining restaurant, and corporate travelers can make use of the on-site boardrooms and meeting venues. Getting around is easy, too, thanks to a complimentary tuk-tuk service for select routes.
