St. Regis Melbourne is set to open in 2022, marking the debut of the luxury St. Regis brand in Australia and adding to the crop of new properties launching in the city.

The 168-room hotel will be housed within the mixed-use Flinders Bank development at the corner of Spencer Street and Flinders Street, which has been described as “the junction of Melbourne’s bustling CBD, the lively river promenade, and the flourishing Crown Entertainment Complex”.

Occupying floors two to 11 of the 33-story building, the property allows guests to enjoy views of the city, as well as Yarra River.

Guests can expect a specialty restaurant, a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, and an Iridium Spa and beauty salon. The hotel will also house a St Regis Bar, which will serve the local rendition of the brand’s signature cocktail, the Bloody Mary.

Richard Crawford, senior director of hotel development, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific at Marriott International, said: “The St Regis Melbourne will be an outstanding addition to our strong and growing footprint in the region, where we are on track to boast the largest portfolio of upper upscale and luxury hotels and resorts, with two-thirds of the new supply pipeline.”

Aside from St. Regis Melbourne, Marriott also recently confirmed the return of its W Hotels brand to Sydney, with a new 593-room property within close proximity to Sydney’s Darling Habour.
