It pays to plan ahead when it comes to a romantic break at this jungly beachside property just outside Kota Kinabalu.

Reserving a villa just 21 days in advance will net you savings of 21 percent on accommodation, and for travelers who book direct, the resort is also throwing in a complimentary 50-minute couple’s massage, return scheduled transfers by speedboat between Jesselton Point and Gaya Island, plus a guided walk led by the resident naturalist.

Meanwhile, three of the resort’s sister properties around Peninsular Malaysia — namely Pangkor Laut resort, heritage-themed hotel The Majestic Malacca, and Tanjong Jara Resort on the Terengganu coastline — have also rolled out similar deals.
