The Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi now has a sister resort on a neighboring island in the southern Gaafu Alifu Atoll. Connected to it by bridge, The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah will feature 173 spacious beach and water villas when it opens in June, each with its own pool.
Twelve will be two-bedroom units that are perfectly suited for families; guests with youngsters in tow will also appreciate the dedicated Turtle Kids Club and children-centric activities such as beach games, scavenger hunts, and Dhivehi language practice.
Grownups, meanwhile, can look forward to pampering sessions at the exclusive Spa by Clarins wellness retreat, Mediterranean tapas and sunset cocktails at beachside Café del Sol, and classic Cantonese dishes at Li Bai, itself a sister to the acclaimed Singapore restaurant of the same name. Other highlights include a 42-meter main swimming pool and a diving and watersports center, not to mention all the facilities on Falhumaafushi, just a short walk away across a turquoise lagoon.
