Fancy a pint of beer this weekend? Head over to Siam Discovery and join Heineken’s “Behind the Star Experience,” their first interactive exhibition in Asia. You’ll get to learn more about the beer brand’s 144-year history. It has five zones within the exhibition that you can explore: Relive the Origin of Greatness, Feel the Magic of Quality Ingredients, Enter the Amazing World of Brewing, Take an Epic Journey Around the World, and Savor the One and Only Star Serve Ritual. This exhibition is shown from May 12 to 18.

Here’s something that will light up your weekend experience. Daniel Monfort Gil, a Barcelona-born artist, has an exhibition at the Serindia Gallery titled “Our World” that showcases real-life stories from the city’s LGBT community. The exhibition will start on May 12 and last until May 31.


Hong Kong

Visit the city’s upcoming art museum M+ Pavilion in West Kowloon to see “Ambiguously Yours,” an interesting exhibition that explores androgyny and gender-fluidity in local pop culture. You’ll find yourself exploring more than 90 works consisting of visual art, design, and moving images.  The exhibition starts from May 12 until May 21.

For those of you who love museums, you’re in luck. This weekend is the International Museum Day Hong Kong 2017! The Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Maritime Museum, as well as Hong Kong Space Museum are going to be open for free. Not only are you going to have an amazing time indulging your eyes in the array of wonders in each museum, but you’ll also have the opportunity to join fun educational programs. Don’t miss out – only on May 13 and 14.



The Parkview Museum is going to be hosting an event titled “Art After Dark” on May 13. Over 30 artworks highlighting environmental issues such as shark protection and ocean conservation will be shown. Singer Charlie Lim, band Tomgirl, and DJ Haili Bin will be making an appearance. To all the party people, tonight’s the night! Head over to Zouk Nightclub to get your ears buzzing and your soles dancing with Above and Beyond. Known to be the UK’s most adventurous electronic and trance duo, their track record precedes itself. Having sold out shows before at legendary venues such as New York’s Madison Square Garden and The Forum in Los Angeles, it’s a sure thing that tonight will be unforgettable. The show is only for one night, May 12.  



For Jakartans who’ve had a long and tiring week, be ready to dance and have a wild night at the SHVR Ground Festival happening on May 13. Located in JIEXPO in Kemayoran Jakarta, you can expect to find massive names like Above and Beyond, Cosmic Gate, Emma Hewitt, Afrojack, Sam Feldt, and Markus Schulzdan.

Kuala Lumpur

Prepare to get your taste buds tingling! The Kuala Lumpur Oyster Festival is happening on May 14 at Bangsar’s Southern Rock Seafood. You can expect all kinds of oysters from classics such as the French Fine de Claire to Ireland’s premium Gallagher Specials. They’ll also be serving champagne sets and seafood barbecue, all the while serenading you with performances from bands like Fariq Auri Trio, Lewis Percasa, and poetry readings from Irish poet Cat Brogan.
