This year will see the fast-growing brand debut new properties in three of the kingdom’s most scenic beach destinations.

Avani+ Koh Lanta Resort

Hot on the heels of launching Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort last year, Avani Hotels is gearing up to open its second outpost in Krabi province. Back-to-nature escapes beckon at Avani+ Koh Lanta Resort, which will open by the last quarter of 2021 on a peninsula in northern Koh Lanta that overlooks the Andaman Sea. A scenic 90-minute journey (including a short ferry ride) from Krabi International Airport, the lush property features a private beach: the perfect starting point for lazy snorkeling sessions and kayaking excursions.

Avani+ Koh Lanta will have 87 guest rooms and private pool villas. Of these, the crème de la crème is the two-bedroom Grand Panorama Pool Villa with its own private garden, ideal for family get-togethers and intimate wedding celebrations. Those who book the Grand Panorama Pool Villa can look forward to enjoying the services of an exclusive villa host, and luxuriating in a spacious living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen, promising added flexibility for an even more memorable group vacation.

The property will also introduce three new dining and drinking outlets, with the highlight being the rustic-chic Reggae Bar: just the place to sip on creative cocktails and enjoy live entertainment while taking in those breathtaking Koh Lanta sunsets. After dark, a curated music selection will add to the venue’s romantic ambience.

Avani+ Khao Lak Resort

Avani Hotels will be adding a dash of sophistication to the coastline of Phang Nga Province with the upcoming Avani+ Khao Lak Resort. Set to open by Q4 2021, the retreat promises equal measure of comfort and charm on a long sandy beach about an hour’s drive north of Phuket International Airport. Here, guests will bed down in 250 contemporary, light-filled guest rooms and 78 one- and two-bedroom villas with uninterrupted views of the Andaman Sea. Travelers can unwind with muscle-melting massages at AvaniSpa, challenge each other in the bowling alley, splash out in the outdoor pool, stay in shape at the gym, and keep their kids entertained at AvaniKids club.

It isn’t just the promise of sun, sand, and sea that makes Avani+ Khao Lak such a captivating place. The 9.6-hectare property has been carefully designed to fit into the existing landscape of natural ponds and lush gardens, preserving more than 600 trees in the process. Another 100 have been replanted through a tree nursery initiative that helped keep them healthy during the resort’s construction. Other sustainability practices include minimizing the carbon footprint by sourcing local seafood and, just like its sister hotel in Koh Lanta, installing an on-site zero-waste facility that will convert leftover food into organic fertilizer for the resort’s garden. If an eco-conscious stay in Khao Lak is what you’re after, look no further.

Avani Hotels is also preparing to launch its ninth property in Thailand and very first outpost in Phuket by the end of this year. Steps away from Mai Khao Beach on the serene northwest shores of the island, and situated just 15 minutes’ drive from Phuket International Airport, Avani+ Mai Khao Phuket Suites & Villas will have 100 generously sized suites and private pool villas, each equipped with a kitchenette and washing machine. This elegant refuge is ideal for both families and couples desiring a mix of quietness and convenience; the Turtle Village shopping complex and Anantara Mai Khao are located right next door. Avani+ Mai Khao also features an expansive lagoon pool, a kid’s club, and a gym, alongside a number of restaurants and bars, all in a verdant tropical setting.

Avani Hotels & Resorts currently operates over 30 properties in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, most recently debuting in both Cambodia and South Korea. The brand has a strong pipeline of new properties under development, including in destinations such as Vietnam, the Maldives, and Oman, where Avani will be planting its flag for the first time.
