VIDEO: Aloft Debuts Voice-Activated Hotel Rooms

Using Apple’s Siri program, tech-focused Aloft Hotels has launched the world’s first voice-activated rooms in the US. Currently available at Aloft Boston Seaport and Aloft Santa Clara, each of these rooms features an iPad with a built-in app that will activate the voice command technology when launched. “The new Aloft voice-activated hotel rooms are going to change the way that our guests interact, literally, with their room during their stay with us. It’s the latest way Aloft is changing the way we all travel,” said Sarah Downing, vice president of global guest initiatives and innovation at Aloft Hotels. Once activated, guests will be able to use their voice to control room temperature, lighting options, TV channels, music preferences, and much more. Simple commands starting with “hey Siri” will also enable guests to receive various travel recommendations and suggestions.
