The brand-new attraction will feature six themed lands and a total of 29 rides.
Already boasting mega attractions like the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World, and Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Abu Dhabi looks set to welcome a $1 billion Warner Bros’ theme park this July 25.
The capital of the United Arab Emirates hopes that this new opening will help to double the number of tourists visiting the country over the next few years, as well as diversity its economy away from oil.
As for travelers and theme park enthusiasts, here’s what to expect.
Spanning 1.53 million square meters, the indoor theme park will debut with six themed lands, namely Metropolis, Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, and Warner Bros Plaza.
Metropolis looks set to resemble a Manhattan-like skyscraper city, protected from villains by DC superheroes such as Superman and other members of the Justice League including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and The Flash.
Fans of superman ought to make a beeline for Superman 360, an attraction that features the Man of Steel in an epic battle of good versus evil. Other must-tries include Justice League: Warworld Attacks, a ride featuring immersive media and special effects. The Metropolis will also be home to attractions like the Teen Titans Training Academy and Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey, a 4D “flying theatre” experience.
Looking to relive your childhood days? Head to Cartoon Junction, which will feature Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera characters like Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Pepé Le Pew, and more. Parkgoers can embark on rides like the Tom and Jerry Swiss Cheese Spin and Cartoon Junction Carousel.
