What to Expect With the Debut of Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 777-9

These new planes look set to replace the airline’s 777-300ER planes, which are mostly more than a decade old.

As the countdown begins for Singapore Airlines to launch the first of 20 long-range Boeing 777-9 jets, aviation enthusiasts are already anticipating the rollout of all-new first-class suites and business-class seats.

The Singapore flag carrier will take delivery of these planes in 2021, with plans for them to launch in 2022—a year later than originally scheduled. According to CEO Goh Choon Phong, this new fleet will feature the airline’s “next quantum leap of service and product”, with its revolutionary new first-class seats said to “set industry standards.”

These new planes look set to replace the airline’s 777-300ER planes, which are mostly more than a decade old.

Recently, Emirates has launched its new first-class seats on the 777, which features an elegant design, along with a massive 32-inch personal television, a vanity with a toiletry kit, as well as a writing kit.
