Kelly Lees of travel start-up Gogobot famously told the Telegraph last year that “internet access is as necessary to many hotel guests as hot-running water.” Internet access, and at blazing fast speeds, is a prerequisite for many travelers and Hotel WiFi Test has created a study to rate hotels based on the service. The company has published a study naming the 10 fastest WiFi speeds by hotel chains and by individual hotels in the world. The study draws on the findings of user-generated tests while staying at the hotels at various peak usage times, verified and aggregated by the company. Prague’s boutique Emblem Hotel took the top spot based on what the hotel claims are fiber optic cables installed on all the floors, connected the main Prague connection. Rounding out the top three are the TradeWinds Island Grand in Florida and DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago – Arlington Heights.
