The Edwardian Old Magistrates Court in downtown Auckland has been given a new lease on life as a high-ceilinged restaurant, bar, and entrance to the AVANI Metropolis, which is offering an opening special through January. Guests who stay at least two nights in its one- and two-bedroom apartments are entitled to a 15 percent discount, a bottle of New Zealand wine, and late checkout.
