Singapore Airlines continues to support sports and tourism by sponsoring the 28th Southeast Asian Games to be held in the Lion City from June 5−16. Organized by the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee, the Games will host more than 7000 athletes and officials from 36 sports. As the official airline partner, SIA will sponsor Singapore-bound economy-class tickets for promotional activities leading up to the event, giving out a grand prize of two tickets to members of each country participating in the Games. SIA will also keep attendees cooler with handheld fans that will be distributed during the preview, opening, and closing ceremonies, as well as SEA Games−themed Airbus A380 aircraft models. “Singapore Airlines is proud to be the official airline partner of the 28th Southeast Asian Games,” said SIA executive vice president commercial, Mak Swee Wah. “We are especially honored to support this milestone sporting event which will be held in Singapore after a 22-year hiatus, as we celebrate the country’s 50th birthday this year.”
