High tea is in season in Hong Kong following SEVVA’s Lanvin-themed soirée and Ladurée’s cameo at the Mandarin Oriental. The latest hotel to get in the action is Tai Koo’s EAST hotel in collaboration with British fashion brand Cath Kidston. The designer’s ultra-feminine floral prints will be featured in table settings and atop Hong Kong cake designer Penney Pang’s delicate handcrafted creations. Patrons can experience the afternoon tea set at EAST from March 24 to May 18, 2014. Executive chef of East, David Parkin, will also serve traditional British grub including honey-glazed ham and mustard sandwiches, tea-smoked salmon, sun-blushed tomato palmiers, and rose cream-filled macaroons. On weekends, a full tea buffet will accompany Pang’s sugary creations along with a Kidston-inspired sweets corner. Afternoon tea is priced at US$30 for a set for two on weekdays and US$25 per person for weekend brunch. No party is complete without a party favor and all tea-goers will receive both a Cath Kidston hand cream and a discount card when attending.
