Los Angeles-based digital artisit Jennifer Steinkamp will see her first exhibition in Hong Kong from February 13 to March 22 in contemporary gallery Lehmann Maupin (407 Pedder Building, 12 Pedder Street, Central; 852/2530-0025). Steinkamp’s work uses digital renderings projected within architectural surroundings to contradict the viewer’s ideas of form and space. She will exhibit two pieces, Diaspore and Bouquet I, both projection pieces that explore natural elements and their larger relationship to the environment. Steinkamp uses technology and the manipulation of natural details to evoke meaning in her audience. Her approach uniquely employs 3-D animation and she is often seen as a pioneer in the digital media sphere. The collection will be on display Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
