If cruising the waters of eastern Indonesia aboard a souped-up phinisi (traditional schooner) strikes you as romantic, then the just-launched Alexa is sure to float your boat. Originally built to ferry cargo across the Flores Sea, the two-masted vessel has been transformed by Russian interior designer Veronika Blomgren into a single-suite cruiser for couples. You won’t be entirely alone, of course—the Alexa’s crew of seven includes an on-board spa therapist and chef—but it’s as close as you can get to having your own yacht, and a stylish one at that: the 30-square-meter master cabin is decked out in tribal art and Persian rugs.
