Sprawling over 30 hectares at the southern end of Bali’s Nusa Dua resort strip, this three-in-one property is shared by a discreet villa compound, an all-suite guest wing called The Mulia, and a 526-room sandstone-clad resort complex that wraps around a vast central courtyard filled with multitiered swimming pools. Accessed via a separate entrance, the villas come with goose-down duvets, Jacuzzi tubs, and their own pools; they’re lovely, though for something closer to the sea, the rooms and suites in the main building can’t be beat: all feature high ceilings, custom furnishings and original artwork, and sliding glass doors that open onto what must be among Bali’s biggest balconies. Facilities—and there are many—include four good restaurants, Nusa Dua’s only nightclub, and the expansive Mulia Spa, itself equipped with hammam tables, aroma steam chambers, ice-fountain rooms, oak-lined saunas, hydrotonic pools, and 20 beige-and-bronze treatment rooms.
