Singapore’s Sentosa Island to Get a W Hotel on September 16

The W brand is coming to Singapore’s Sentosa Island. Scheduled to open on September 16, the W Singapore Sentosa Cove will be located in the Sentosa Cove area of the island.

The W brand is aimed at a younger demographic and features minimalist designs with quirky touches. This property will feature glowing daybeds shaped like rocks and a waterfall with projections of graphical patterns.

Masterminded by Rockwell Group, the New York firm behind the recently opened W Paris-Opéra, the Starwood-managed hotel features 240 rooms, including four ‘Wow Suites’ and one ‘Extreme Wow Suite.’ It also sports a spa, fitness center, and outdoor heated pool. All rooms will be equipped with iPod docking stations, Bose sound systems, and 42-inch LED TVs.

In terms of food and beverage, the resort will offer the steakhouse Skirt for prime cuts and seafood prepared on a Parilla grill, the Kitchen Table for all day-dining, Woobar for creative cocktails, and Wet cafe for snacks and drinks by the pool.

Nearby the resort are waterfront shops and restaurants also catering to The Residences at W Singapore Sentosa Cove, a marina-oriented residential complex with over 220 two- to four-bedroom units, plus penthouses.

The W brand is now found throughout Asia, including in Seoul, Hong Kong, the Maldives, Koh Samui, Bali, and Taipei, with additional properties slated for Bangkok (October 2012), Jakarta (2015) and Mumbai (2015).

Sentosa Island last year welcomed some 19 million guests, drawn to its beaches, casinos, and water parks, among other attractions.
