The latest excuse to visit Thailand’s eastern seaboard is the Centara Sonrisa Residences & Suites in Sriracha, a 90-minute drive from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

With a stunning seaside location, the curvaceous building is done up in cool whites and hues of blue to mirror the waters of the Gulf of Thailand, a theme that continues inside the 100 bright rooms and suites, all appointed with balconies and large picture windows that frame views of the surrounding scenery.

Those traveling with kids will want to book one of the Family Residences (which come with a children’s area with bunk beds) or a two-bedroom suite, as both categories are equipped with kitchenettes.

When it comes time to dine out, the resort’s rooftop UMI Restaurant is a chic setting for Japanese dishes as well as the chef’s creative take on Thai and European staples.

Back on ground level, the Tropicana Pool Bar specializes in iced margaritas, while Spa Cenvaree has onsen pools and a treatment menu inspired by Thailand and Ayurvedic traditions.
