Located along a 1.2-kilometer stretch of Abu Dhabi’s protected eastern mangroves, the Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa will be Anantara’s first city hotel in the Middle East when it opens in June. A mere 10 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi and 15 minutes from the international airport, the hotel features over 200 rooms and is part of an integrated hotel, residential, marina, and retail center.
Blending elements of Arabic architecture, the hotel features arched ceilings, mashrabiyas (bay windows with carved wood latticework), and colorful mosaics, with 18-carat-gold motives incorporated into the design.
In terms of cuisine, the hotel offers three food and beverage outlets, including the signature Thai restaurant Pachaylen and the rooftop lounge Impressions, which overlooks the mangroves. The hotel’s spa features 10 treatment rooms and what it claims is the largest traditional Arabic hammam (or bath) in the United Arab Emirates.
The hotel will be Anantara’s third property in the UAE, following Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort (in the Liwa Desert) and and Desert Island Resort & Spa (on Sir Bani Yas Island).
