Part clothing store and part gallery, Design a Space showcases the work of independent Australian designers. A husband-and-wife team comprised of Bec Lutz, a former fashion designer, and Chris, a former creative brand manager, invite designers to sell their wares as one-of-a-kind capsule collections or individual products, and as designers rotate monthly, shoppers see new options upon each return. On offer right now is an array of soft, chunky-knit sweaters, colorful bandage dresses, brooches made of Legos, and rustic gold rings topped with raw chunks of volcanic lava. Similar to a gallery, the shop is sparse and uncluttered, with white walls and beech-wood shelving creating exhibition-like displays in which each product can shine.
