Throughout this year, Sofitel hotels will host a touring exhibition dedicated to French cinema’s most recognizable star. BB Forever—Brigitte Bardot: La Légende is a retrospective of the life of one of France’s cultural icons curated by journalist Henry-Jean Servat. In addition to starring in films such as And God Created Women, Bardot collaborated frequently with Serge Gainsbourg on various musical projects, and even became the subject of a typically fiery Simone de Beauvoir essay in 1959. Bardot decided to call time on her acting career in 1973, and has since focused her energies on animal rights activism. Many of the photographs in the exhibition have not previously seen the light of day, while others may seem more familiar. The photographs will be shown at each of Sofitel’s eight Asia properties, beginning with Sofitel Bangkok now before closing later in the year at its Macao hotel.
