Mix, the signature restaurant at W St. Petersburg, is drafting in French chef Frédéric Vardon from his Paris restaurant for a week’s residency that will include two gala dinners on April 19 and 20. Normandy-born Vardon spent more than a decade working with Alain Ducasse before establishing himself at the reins of Le 39V, moments from the Champs-Élysées on Avenue George-V in the city’s 8e arrondissement. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in February, 2012. After presiding over the two gala evenings, Vardon will be in the kitchen until April 27, cooking a prix fixe menu as well as à la carte. Mix occupies an enviable location in St. Petersburg, adjacent to St. Isaac’s Cathedral, and moments from the Winter Palace and Hermitage Museum. Reservations can be made here.
Voznesensky prospekt 6; 7-812/610-6166; the paired gala dinner costs US$190 per person.
