The St. Regis Singapore

29 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247911

The St. Regis name is synonymous with opulence, and this Singapore outpost, which opened in 2007 as the first St. Regis hotel in Southeast Asia, is no exception. Beyond a dramatic porte-cochère, the lobby dazzles with its massive hand-cut chandelier, grand staircase, and graceful chinoiserie decor. Taking a cue from the artistic heritage of the original St. Regis in New York, The St. Regis Singapore also houses one of the finest private art collections in Asia—more than 100 original paintings and sculptures by the likes of Fernando Botero, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, and Gu Gan.

Situated at the crossroads of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Singapore Botanic Gardens and the Orchard shopping strip, the hotel’s 299 rooms are all generously proportioned and fitted with plush custom furnishings and marble bathrooms. Suites, which start at 70 square meters, are particularly elegant, adorned with crystal chandeliers, hand-painted chinoiserie silk wallpapers, and 600-thread-count bed linens. And there’s impeccable service to match, thanks to an attentive team of butlers who are available around the clock to every guest—a rarity for hotels in Singapore.

A visit to the Astor Bar is a must. Adorned with Picasso lithographs, this handsome space (think rich woods and leather) serves the famed St. Regis signature Bloody Mary, but with a spicy Singaporean twist. Called Chili Padi Mary, the cocktail updates the original recipe with chili padi, ginger, and lemongrass for an unmistakable zing.

Equally distinctive are the hotel’s dining experiences. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking tropical gardens, Brasserie Les Saveurs serves French classics like a côte de boeuf and Hokkaido scallops with parmesan emulsion; the restaurant also hosts a decadent Sunday Champagne brunch. Overseen by Hong Kong–raised chef Chan Wing Kwong, Yan Ting showcases fine Cantonese dining and other Chinese delicacies such as Peking duck, with dim sum brunches available on weekends. Then there’s The Drawing Room, a convivial lobby-level venue for gourmet coffee, aromatic teas, and afternoon tea.

Nor will wellness-seekers be disappointed. Inspired by the healing properties of water, Remède Spa features a sensorial lounge with heated wave loungers, a cedarwood Finnish sauna, jacuzzi pool, outdoor garden, and an expansive menu of therapies that include an award-winning warm jade stone massage and the signature black soap and rassoul hammam ritual. Guests can also sign up for pedicure treatments designed by renowned French podiatrist Bastien Gonzalez.
