Dethroning last year’s taste leader, Bangkok’s Nahm restaurant by David Thompson tops this year’s list of S. Pellegrino Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants beating Tokyo’s Narisawa. The annual list, now in its second run, is an amalgamation of the opinions and experiences of more than 900 international restaurant industry experts. This year the list also included country highlights, naming the best dining venues across Hong Kong (Amber), India (Bukhara, New Delhi), and Singapore (Restaurant André), to name a few. Lanshu Chen of Le Moût Restaurant in Taiwan was named Asia’s best female chef in a new award, along with Janice Wong of Singapore’s 2am dessertbar as the region’s best pastry chef. Familiar faces were seen on the list along with newcomers such as Jungsik in Seoul, also the chart’s highest new entry. For the full list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2014, read on.
