For those looking for a Bali getaway in October, don’t let your travel plans go awry due to upcoming airport closures. Bali will be hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit on October 5-7, meaning a flurry of high-profile heads of state and economic ministers will make their way through Ngurah Rai International Airport. For the average wanderluster traveling through Denpasar, the airport will be closed on October 5 & 9 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. and on October 6 & 8 from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. For guests who have already booked on the affected dates, carriers must inform passengers immediately and arrange for alternative transit. Air traffic will be congested on these dates with private jets of country delegations and business leaders flying in. Hotels are also expected to be affected in the Nusa Dua area as the nearby Bali International Convention Center hosts the conference.
