Wrapped in an “eco-screen” of burnished bronze solar fins that corkscrews upward in the form of a Chinese dragon, Hotel Indigo makes for an arresting sight in Wan Chai even before you spot its glass-bottomed rooftop pool, cantilevered 29 stories over the bustle of Queen’s Road East. Inside are 130 svelte and cheery rooms that pay tribute to their locale with colorful tea sets, handcrafted wall mosaics, and statuettes of legendary kung fu master Lam Jo. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the neighboring office towers and apartments, though south-facing rooms provide views of a lush mountainside. To better survey the scene, head up to the roof, where the poolside skybar takes its place among the highest—and chicest—cocktail aeries on the island.
