Actually-Omar-AFrom playful graphic Ts to tough studded boots and canvas backpacks, Actually KL is a carefully curated fashion boutique highlighting the best Malaysian designers along with indie international labels. With an ever-changing store layout and blink-and-you-might-miss-it items, the store’s Bangsar Village II location is a well-trodden destination for Kuala Lumpur’s fashionistas. The store is a franchised branch of Actually in Singapore, owned by Malaysians Shahrom Abd Rashid and Omar Abu Hassan who previously trekked to their sister store in Singapore for their shopping needs. Now their Bangsar’s shop has created a character of its own, focusing more on cult brands and invigorating the Kuala Lumpur fashion scene. The minimalist, industrial store stocks items on its bare racks like Dr. Denim from Sweden, U.S. shoe brand Jeffrey Campbell, and Malaysian brands including Silas Liew menswear and Justin Yap gowns. Underground music fills the store including Lykke Li, M83, and Martin Roth while Hassan reigns fashionably from his post at the back of the store.
