Qatar Airways Stars FC Barcelona Players in New Safety Video

Qatar Airways took its safety video game up a notch this week with the release of a new football-themed video featuring FC Barcelona. Filmed mainly at Camp Nou Stadium, home of FC Barcelona, the video stars six of the club’s top players, namely Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Neymar Jr., Gerard Piqué, Ivan Rakitić, and Javier Mascherano. The football stars, alongside fans and Qatar Airways crew members, are seen demonstrating safety instructions from the pitch, the stands, the changing rooms, and even the team bus. Suarez, for example, is pictured taking to the pitch in a life vest, while Pique causes a stir as he arrives and demonstrates the brace position. The video, according to Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar Al Baker, was part of the carrier’s effort to stay young and fresh as a brand.  “Qatar Airways is renowned for being an award-winning and ambitious airline consistently delivering a superior experience for our passengers,” said Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker. “But we are also a young company and as such we understand the need to stay fresh, relevant, and to have fun. With people traveling more frequently we saw a need to reinvigorate the safety video moment and by inviting our partners at FC Barcelona to join us we have something truly unique and attention-grabbing.”
