Even as Thailand prepares to implement the ASEAN single visa program and enhance Phuket’s role as an international hub, AirAsia is increasing its domestic flight frequency to the Thai holiday island. Currently, AirAsia flies 9 times daily from Bangkok to Phuket, but by June this year the low-cost carrier will have increased this number to 12 flights, all departing Don Muang Airport. The 10th daily service will start on April 30, with the 11th and 12th services commencing May 15 and June 3, respectively.
