Dragonair announced yesterday that it will offer a service from Hong Kong to Kolkata, which will become its second passenger destination in India after Bangalore. The airline will employ Airbus A320 aircraft on the service, which will commence in the winter.
The service will run four times a week and leave Hong Kong at 10:25 p.m., arriving in Kolkata at 15 minutes past midnight. The return leg will leave Kolkata at 1:15 a.m. and land in HK at 7:25 a.m.
Kolkata will be the seventh destination to be launched or resumed by Dragonair this year. Since April, the airline has resumed or launched services to Xi’an, Guilin, Jeju and Taichung. And it will launch services to the Philippines (Clark) shortly and Chiang Mai in July.
Earlier this week in Hong Kong the airline held a ceremony celebrating the May 1 launch of its service to Jeju. The thrice-weekly service, operated by A320 aircraft, is the only direct non-stop service between Hong Kong and Jeju.
