With fish-taco food carts and a central glass atrium flooding the space with California sunshine, the Qantas Los Angeles Business Lounge in LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal proves that Australia’s flag carrier can pull off West Coast style. Contemporary chairs and a mid-century circular sofa around an open- air fireplace provide seating for 400 travelers now, upped to 600 after an extension is completed early next year, more than doubling the size of the carrier’s former airport lounge. As Qantas is a member of Oneworld, the lounge is open for first- and business-class passengers flying any alliance-member airline to come and enjoy preflight meals from menus designed by chef Neil Perry, shower suites with Aurora spa amenities, and drinks from the cocktail bar.
